David Floyd marr #1 Sarah Elizabeth Davis ca 1750. He marr. #2 Sarah (Crutchfield?).There is an excellent microfilm at the Family History Library on David Floyd Sr. family. I will have to check to m.film number next week, but I think it was 0482656. I am in a mess here, but as soon as I can I will add more. I do have the will of David Floyd
In the name of God Amen. I David Floyd of Lincoln County being of tolerable health and of sound mind and memory blessed by God for the same calling to mind the mortality of my Body do consititute and ordain this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made, and declaring this my last will and Testament in form and manner following. To wit, I lend to my beloved wife Sarah Floyd during her natural life or widowhood one half of the tract of land whereon I now live to be divided by a line to run due East & West so as to Include the houses I live in and so much of the plantation as falls in the said line; her part to be on the Northside of the said line and bounded by the lines of Nathan Samme(?) & Col Abraham Buford and others. Also I give my said wife one third part of the crop of corn,wheat & tobacco that may be on the place at te time of my decease.
Item I give and bequeath to my sone Benjamen Floyd, George Floyd, John Floyd and David Floyd, and my two daughters Mary Floyd and Gracy Floyd, and to my granddaughter Mary Singleton, daughter of my daughter Sally Singleton dec'd all the lands that I am proprietor of to be equally divided amongst them. the said Benjamin Floyd, George Floyd, John Floyd, David Floyd, Mary Floyd, Gracy Floyd and my Granddaughter Mary Singleton at the time of my death (all the land except the one half of the tract whereon I now live which I have lent to my beloved wife during her natural life or widowhood, and after her death or marriage to de divided in equal proportions betwixt all my said children before named and my grand daughter Mary Singleton.Also I give unto my said children Benjamen Floyd, George Floyd, John Floyd and David Floyd, Mary Floyd and Gracy Floyd, and my granddaughter Mary Singleton all my stock of horses, cattle, sheep and hogs and all my Plantation; utensils of every kind and Household & kitchen furniture, and the remainder of the crop of corn, wheat, & tobacco that I didnot give to my wife in this my said last will & Testament to be equally divided amongst them my said children and my grand daughter, Mary Singleton, to them and their Heirs forever.
Item I give and bequeath to my sons Benjamen Floyd, George Floyd, John Floyd & David Floyd & to my daughters Mary Floyd and Gracy Floyd the following negroes, viz James, David, Billy, Tom, John Frank, Sue, Sall, Venus, Esther, Amey, Oney, Young Frank, Young Sall, Isbal,& Suck. them & their future increase to be equally divided amonge them & their Heirs forever.
Item I farther give and bequeath to my son David Floyd (over & above what I have before given him) one negroe boy named Jason, to him and his Heirs forever.
Item I farther give and bequeath to my Grand daughter Mary Singleton, daughter of my daughter, Sally Singleton dec'd Two negroe girls named Bett & Patt them and their future increase to her and her Heirs forever. And if my son David Floyd or my Grand Daughter Mary Singleton should die without an Heir, my will and desire is that the legacies left them should be equally divided amongst my children that are then living, to them and their Heirs forever. And Lastly I do constitute and appoint my three sons Benjamin Floyd, George Floyd and John Floyd Executors of this my last will and Testament (hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made).
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and a _____? seal this twelfth day of September Anno Dom. one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven

Ata a Court held for Lincoln County the 16th day of December 1788.
This will was proved by the oaths of Robert Singleton and Nathan Samme/Lamme? witnesses thereto and ordered to be Recorded And on the motion of Benjamen Floyd, George Floyd, & John Floyd the Executors therein named who made Oath and executed and acknowledged bond as the Law directs a certificatae is granted them for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.

David came to Lincoln Co., KY abt 1782 from King William Co.. VA, where all his children were probably born.
David H. was on the tax list on 22 June 1787 at Lincoln Co., Virginia, in the District of Commissioner John Bryant.3
David H. Floyd Sr. left a will on 12 September 1787 at Lincoln Co., Kentucky, and it contained:
gives one half of the plantation and house to his wife, Sarah, until her death or re-marries, the other half to his children Benjamin, George, John, David, Mary and Gracy Floyd and granddaughter Mary Singleton, daughter of his daughter, Sally Singleton. All the farm equipment and slaves to be divided among children. Witnesses were John Bryant, Robert Singleton and Nathan Lamme. Will was prooved on 16 December 1788 and Benjamin, George and John Floyd were appointed Executors.4
