| Photos | Henry and Samantha Warren; RS Keeney; history of Clay Hill Baptist Church Ruth KY See here https://curtisamerica.com/documents/LouisaColyerpension.pdf where R.S. Keeney files affidavit in support of Lousia Jane Meece Colyer confederate pension application. She was wife of Charles Granade Colyer. James Wesley Colyer was long time pastor at Clay Hill Baptist Church. His father, Lindsey Robert Colyer, was named in the will of James Hayden Girdler as one of the trustees to build a church near Keeney cemetery on Pitman Creek. James Hayden Girdler's 2nd wife was Sarah Colyer, who was daughter of James Alexander Colyer. Lindsey and Sarah were brother/sister. See the 1896 document deed from R.S. Keeney where he transfers the land upon which to build the church. the 1896 deed is linked to Lindsey Colyer, James Wesley Colyer, Joel Hayden Girdler, Sarah Colyer etc. |
| Documents | Home place of Lindsey Randall Colyer According to Harold Colyer, grandson, this is approximate location of where Lindsey Randall Colyer's home stood. Harold told Richard Curtis that he used some of the remaining stone to make his patio in the home Harold built nearby on Rush Branch Rd in the 1990's. | |

| Lindsey R. Colyer Mine and Quarry Report 1897 Shows that Lindsey Randall Colyer evidently owned and operated the coal rights in Juno Ky(what later became known as Ruth Ky). There once was a coal tipple hauling coal down to the Ruth Ky store up through the mid 1950s to the Ruth Ky general store at Pitman Creek and current Hwy 192. | ||

| 1874 Pulaski County Property Tax Colyers Various Colyer property East Pulaski County Pitman Creek etc . Notice that Bluford(Buford) and Rebecca Colyer are next to the Haynes property that likely is current day Haynes Cemetery in Jugornot area of Pulaski County in Jugornot Hollow. Notice that on this 1874 list, it shows Charles Colyer (same as 1873 showing as John G Colyer which encourages my guess that his full name was Charles John Granade Colyer). Also note Alexander Colyer with about 500 acres that I guess is land currently all woods that is owned next to old Colyer/Warren Farm on Pitman Creek) later records shows next to Warren and Allen farm(current at Pitman creek and hwy 192) and next to Keeny property reflected on Civil War Map of Burnside this website. | ||

| 1900 deed Linsey R Colyer to Moses Warren, sounds like more of the wooded land west of current hwy 192 down Pitman Creek Note that Neal Colyer, Linsey's son, acts as witness. This property evidently ended up in the Murphy family hands not long thereafter, where it resides today. Pulaski County Ky deeds 83-23 | ||

| 1886 last will of Joel Hayden Girdler This document reveals he left up to $200 to build a church near Keeney Cemetery on current day Clay Hill Rd in Somerset. This evidently is what resulted in Clay Hill Baptist Church. Joel Girdler's 2nd wife was Sarah Jane Colyer, daughter of James Alexander Colyer, who lived in little cabin at mill on current day Strawberry Rd. | ||
| 1896 deed from Richmond Sharp Keeney to Clay Hill Church Here R.S. Keeney transfers the original land for Clay Hill Church. This combined with the Henry and Samantha Warren photo document gives some of the origins of Clay Hill Church. And the Joel Hayden Girdler lastwill that gave money to build the church. The will appointed Joel Girdler's oldest sons along with Lindsey Robert Colyer and Walter Reynolds (Colyer) as trustees to build the church. Walter Reynolds was son of Mary Polly Colyer(daughter of James Alexander Colyer). Mary Polly Colyer was sister to Lindsey Robert Colyer. | ||

| 1883 marriage cert of Lindsey R Colyer and Lucinda Stogsdill notice that signing the bond with Lindsey Colyer is apparent friend/neighbor Samuel Tate. This appears to be the son of Elder John Tate and grandson of Maj. Samuel Tate (namesake of Tateville). A son of the signing Samuel Tate named Moses, is buried nearby at Alcalde. | ||
| 1985 Rena Hughes Lewis remembers Thanks to Mitch Hughes for this historical write up of the families and surrounding area of Ruth KY found in the papers of his grandmother, Verda Mae Hughes. She mentions Lindsey Colyer, Matilda Richardson Meece, Jesse Richardson, Ephraim Meece, Louisa Meece Colyer, Moses Keeney, John Sharpe (Doc) Keeney, Lewis family, Hughes family.
