Photos		Bluford Kirtley Colyer grave stone This is grave stone found off hiway 769 Somerset KY in Jugornot area in woods off gravel drive right before Omega Park Road. Buford was son of Bluford Colyer, eldest son of John Colyer of 1781. This photo was taken about 2003 by Wesley Colyer (son of Kenneth George Colyer) who lives in the Cincinnati area about 2003. Status: Located

		Colyer family cemetery Jugornot region Pulaski County KY This photo by the Pulaski County Cemetery board taken about 2016 when it was not overgrown. It is believed based on trace of John Colyer land grants to this location and evidence via Power of Attorney and estate law suits noted under John Colyer, that this is is the burial location of William Colyar, his wife Nancy Ann Agnus St. Clair Colyar, and John's first wife, who died about 1815. It is thought that the rock wall enclosure are the first graves that contain these. Most of the graves in the entire cemetery are only marked by crude stones with no engraving.

		Bluford Colyer 1810 Pulaski County Prop tax records Shows that eldest son of John Colyer(born 1781) was named BLUFORD, not BUFORD. Wonder if this is another Bluford, since indications are that Bluford son of John was only born in 1807. Bluford son of John, had a son named Bluford Kirtley Colyer.....Ms. Bray in area in 2005 also knew of "Blufie" Colyer. Also shows Charles Colyer, brother to William Colyar, on Brush Creek. Also may show William Colyar at bottom. This Bluford Colyer is only found on the 1810 property tax records. None found before or after. Note on Pointer creek.

		1899 deed, Rebecca Colyer wife of Bluford, transfers 1/2 her land to son Bluford K Colyer. Here transfers the southern part of her 700 acres in Jugornot hollow along old Jugornot road. BK Colyer, is later buried on it at current day Ponderosa Rd off Rush Branch Rd.

		1879 Pulaski deed: Bluford K Colyer to Doolin of Nashville a tenth dower interest of widow of Hezekiah Haynes house proprerty. This is property where Haynes cemetery sits today. It is unknown how BK Colyer got the 1/10 dower interest of Haynes widow. Doolin's were partners with John Colyer born 1781 in coal business per estate records. This shows Doolin's originated from Nashville.
		1886 Pulaski court road order: BK Colyer, Thompsonville to Jackboro Rd According to Rennick's Kentucky Place Names book, Thompsonville served the Jugornot community 1857 forward til 1894. First postmaster was James P Modrell. The Jacksboro Rd, was to Jacksboro TN and what became some parts of current day Hwy 27. So this road was from Jugornot region to current area of Hwy 27.
		1919 deed trace Bluford Colyer/John Colyer land to Edwards This is believed to be original land grants to John Colyer beginning in 1808. It goes from John Colyer to son Bluford in 1846, then to Bluford wife Rebecca, then Rebecca to son Bluford Kirtley Colyer on down as shown in this succession of deeds. It includes the cemetery at current hwy 769 Rush Branch Rd and Ponderosa Drive.

		1970 era BK Colyer cemetery listing This is from the Pulaski County Historical Society cemetery book number 2 that was compiled about 1970. It names the cemetery the BK Colyer cemetery, likely because he is one of 2 graves that are marked with written stones rather than field rocks. Every individual listed is in the Colyer family. See James Perry Colyer confederate pension papers above that contain death certificate of Susan Silvers Colyer and shows buried in Jugornot.
		1919 BK Colyer to son Milford 25ac but graveyard Pulaski County Ky deed book 86 that transfers 25 acres to son Milford, but reserving out of it 1 acre for school house and 1 acre for cemetery graveyard. This graveyard is called Stewart-Colyer Cemetery on findagrave.com

Notes

According to Jugornot Hollow long time resident (family there for generations) Shirley Bray, June 2005, BK Colyer was known as Blufie Colyer. She said he is buried in abandoned cemetery off Ponderosa Drive which is right off highway 769 (Rush Branch Rd) in Pulaski county near Buck Creek Boat dock. I found his grave stone in this abandoned cemetery 06/24/05. Shirley Bray said that Bluford's former house used to be close to the cemetery.
