- Cloda Colyer
Cloda Daulton Colyer was born May 14, 1917, in Elihu, Ky. She went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2015, at the age of 98.
She was the daughter of Charles Ransom Daulton and Mary Ellen Eades Daulton of Elihu,Ky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo D. Colyer; son, Bennie D. Colyer; son-in- law Weldon Barker; her parents
??Charles and Mary; two brothers, Parker and Charles; two sisters, Ora Miller and Christine Mayfield; one great-granddaughter, Amanda; and one grandson by marriage, Tom Dixon.
She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Barker McKinney Nielson (and Ken) of Somerset, and Shirley Garner (and Don) of Louisville; one daughter-in-law, Betty Colyer (and Bennie) of Del- tona, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, David Colyer (and Joni) of Ind., Jimmie Colyer of Fla., Rex Barker (and Paula) of Georgetown, Denny Barker (and Susan) of Somerset, Cindy Barker of Somerset, Joan Haltom (and Joseph) of Danville; Kelly Barker (and Michelle) of Somerset, Kathy Dixon (and Tom-Deceased) of Owensboro, Melodie Con- way (and Greg) of Prospect, Angela Hoskins of Louisville, and Christi (and Roger) Unker of La- Grange; one step-grandchild, Connie (and Paul)
of Georgia; 18 great-grandchildren; 11 great- great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in law; and many nieces and nephews.
Cloda and her husband, Alonzo, were owners of Colyer's Jewelry for many years, which later became Barker's Jewelry, where she continued to work. She was a seamstress, who began sewing her own clothes at 12 years of age. She enjoyed cooking, canning, crafts, and gospel music. She wrote many gospel songs and sang them. She was a member of Marinatha Baptist Church. She moved from her home in Ferguson to The High- lands Assisted Living and later to Cumberland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memo- rial Gardens.
The family of Mrs. Cloda Colyer will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, until time for services at 1 p.m.
Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Cloda Colyer.
