where Stoner's Creek empties into Stone's River, near Donelson/Hermitage area of Nashville. The 1829 District court case give the deposition of John Buchanan, who states that in the spring of 1780, Michael Stoner lived on his preemption land where Stoner's Creek meets Stone's River. In May 1780, Michael Stoner, signs the Nashville Cumberland Compact. Andrew Jackson later acquired the John Donelson nearby property, called Clover Bottom, and then sued and obtained the Stoner land that had been assigned to his Uncle by marriage, Col. Billy Bush. Billy Bush looses the land to Andrew Jackson due to faulty paperwork in the title.
