Annals Southwest Virginia: Charles St. Clair children sale land

Here are excerpts of court records whereby most of the children after having inherited Sinclair Bottom , some 996 acres, sell it to various parties after death of Charles St. Clair. Notice mention of Thomas Walker on pages with in same area (guardian of Thomas Jefferson). Note that there is a possible mention of William Colyar selling in 1786 land on the Middle Fork of the Holston River. If he was living here as a long hunter, it explains his nearby location to the St Clairs Sinclairs and thereby marrying Charles daughter Nancy. William Colyar first deed on Nolochucky river near modern day Erwin TN is in 1788. May also explain by tombstone of John Colyer, son of William, says he was born in 1781 in Virginia. However, later examination of the deed indicates it was in fact William Collie not William Collier.
